The Rubman 2025 is an exciting swimrun event that combines the thrill of running and swimming across stunning natural landscapes. This unique challenge invites participants to experience the best of both worlds, running over scenic trails and swimming across beautiful fjords.
The course begins near Vaulen Badeplass, where competitors will embark on a journey that includes multiple transitions between swimming and running. Expect to navigate various terrains, from gravel paths and single tracks to rugged hills and slab, ensuring a well-rounded experience that tests your endurance and agility. The event emphasizes teamwork and camaraderie, as you’ll often rely on your fellow participants for motivation and support.
Gandsfjorden emerges as a significant feature of the Rubman Urban Islandhopping Swimrun, not just as a physical obstacle, but as a deeply personal and memorable part of the journey. The swim across its waters, stretching between 1600 and 2000 meters, is described as «epic» by one of the participants, an experience so profound that it will be recounted for years to come.
Traversing Gandsfjorden makes you feel intensely «alive». For the swimmers, it offers a period of solitude and «reflection», a mental space amidst the physical exertion of paddling through its expanse.
From the longest swim to the highest hill, straight after Gandsfjorden you traverse LIfjell (nicknamed bouncy butt hill.) This will be hard, but a good way to get the warmth back in to your body.
Participants will swim in specially designed wetsuits that provide warmth and buoyancy, allowing you to tackle chilly waters with confidence. As you swim, you’ll be equipped with a pull buoy to help maintain your flotation while wearing shoes, a characteristic feature of swimrun that many find surprisingly effective.
Safety is a top priority; hence, there will be support boats accompanying you throughout the course, ensuring that you have assistance if needed. The event is designed to be challenging yet accessible, catering to both seasoned athletes and newcomers eager to test their limits.
Since this is a swimrun with heavy emphasis on swimming in seawater, safety through boats are extra important. So that is why the price is on the high end and you have to be in a team and can not be solo.
Beyond the physical challenge, the Rubman experience fosters community spirit, offering opportunities to connect with fellow adventurers who share your passion for the outdoors. Expect post-race festivities that enhance the sense of camaraderie, complete with food, drinks, and celebrations of personal achievements.
Sign up for the Rubman 2025 and immerse yourself in a day of adventure that promises not just competition but also unforgettable memories and friendships formed amidst the beauty of nature!
